WELCOME

Dear colleagues:

The Barcelona Hip Meeting was conceived with the intention of creating a biannual forum for discussion of the latest topics of interest in relation to hip pathology. In this first round, we would like to focus particularly on the pathology of adolescents and active, young adults.

We have divided the course into two parts. In the first of these, "Update Course in Hip Pathology", we will address new biological and biomechanical concepts in arthritis, its clinical and, especially, radiological diagnosis, and its possible treatments, both medical and rehabilitative. The course is especially targeted toward rheumatologists, rehabilitation therapists, radiologists, physical therapists, family and community medical providers, traumatologists and any other professionals who are interested in this type of pathology.

The second part, "Update Course on Hip Preservation Surgery", will deal with surgical treatment options, from hip preservation surgery, both conventional and arthroscopic, to the specific aspects of hip replacement surgery in this type of patient.

Concurrently, we have organised a series of workshops and live surgical procedures that we hope will be of interest to you.

We want this to be an interactive course, which is why we invite you to participate in it through the presentation of clinical cases that will be discussed in the subsequent sessions.

All of this will take place in the city of Barcelona during what is probably its best season, the month of June. We hope to see you there soon.
